Leadership
Jodie Heal is the president of Heal Accounting a CPA firm with a diverse background providing accounting and advisory services for companies in various industries.
Always searching for innovative strategies to help drive clients forward, Jodie is a solutions-oriented thinker and an expert in cloud accounting technologies. Fluent in many accounting software platforms, her goal is to identify and provide all clients with customized and specialized services, geared to meet their needs. Currently, Heal Accounting has a formal accounting partnership with cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) software company, Sage Intacct Jodie leads the only CPA firm in the state of Maine to have this prestigious designation, enabling Heal Accounting to to offer uniquely customized client accounting and advisory solutions for growing businesses.
Jodie received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Berkeley College, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She was a graduate with distinction at Keller Graduate School of Management, earning her Master of Accounting and Financial Management degree. She is also a graduate of the Midcoast Leadership Academy and the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Emerging Leader Program. In 2018, Jodie received the Women to Watch award in the Emerging Leader category, awarded by the Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Lauren is an expert in business operations, transformation, technology strategy and finance improvement. She is an accomplished CPA and consultant with experience in accounting, tax, finance, planning and audit. Her expertise covers the broad landscape of tax and beyond to areas of general process automation and data management.
Prior to joining Heal Accounting, Lauren led the Corporates Professional Services Operations Center of Excellence at Thomson Reuters, providing critical operations, delivery and technology strategy to the $70M+ business that provides Tax, Legal and Risk technology services to Corporations. Lauren joined Thomson Reuters in 2012 where she established and led a multi-million-dollar strategic consulting practice, advising Fortune 500 companies on global tax operations and systems strategy, optimization, and technology investment.
Before joining Thomson Reuters, Lauren developed and led the Global Tax Technology function for General Motors after migrating from a technical M&A accounting role. In the past, she has worked with Finance and ERP systems, general ledger accounting and reporting, and operational finance. Lauren started her career at KPMG in audit.
Lauren has been recognized professionally with the AICPA’s Standing Ovation Award, on CPA Practice Advisor’s 20 Under 40 list honoring Supporting Stars shaping the future of the accounting industry and is a recipient of the AICPA’s Women to Watch – Emerging Leader Award. She currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Mental Health Association of Greater Chicago and Treasurer of the District 92 Parent Faculty Association.
