Jodie M Heal, CPA, MAFM
Jodie Heal is the president of Heal Accounting Solutions, PC, a CPA firm located in the Starfish Center building at 641 St. George Road, in South Thomaston. She has more than 14 years of experience in providing quality accounting and business advisory services for companies in various industries. This experience includes conducting, supervising and reviewing annual audits and examinations of financial records of a broad range of businesses, as well as tax return preparation for individuals and various small businesses.
She provides clients with specialized services, geared to meet their needs. In addition to tax preparation, she also provides bookkeeping and accounting services. She is fluent in QuickBooks and provides setup, training and tune-ups. She specializes in helping small businesses as well as non-profits.
Mrs. Heal received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Berkeley College, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She was a graduate with distinction at Keller Graduate School of Management, earning her Master of Accounting and Financial Management degree. She is also a graduate of the Midcoast Leadership Academy.
She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Maine Society of CPAs. She is treasurer and board member for Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce, treasurer and board member for Maine Women’s Network-Midcoast chapter and a wish granter for Make-A- Wish. She also participates in various charitable organizations through fundraising and sponsorship.
She was raised in the mid-coast and lives in Warren with her husband, son, dog and cat.
Dorothe Bailey joined Heal Accounting as our Payroll Manager. She has over thirteen years experience in payroll and tax preparation including bookkeeping, accounting and staff management.
Dorothe studied Accounting at South University in Savannah, Georgia while her husband served his last tour of duty in the U.S. Army as an air traffic controller on Hunter Army Airfield. Upon leaving the service they both decided that Maine was the ideal place to raise their family as her husband was born and raised in Mid-Coast Maine. While their two children attended Great Salt Bay Community School in Damariscotta, Dorothe helped found the Friends of Great Salt Bay School, a 503(c) designed to help enrich the lives of Great Salt Bay Students. She was their Treasurer for the longest allowable term of six years. Dorothe is also the guiding force on payroll, tax management and compliance for her husband’s two home based businesses, The Fat Friar’s Meadery and Bailey & Son Painting in Newcastle, Maine.
Dorothe hails to us from Bad Laasphe, Germany. She has lived in America with her husband, children and multiple animals for the last twenty-six years, with interruptions. She enjoys reading Tess Gerristen and Janet Evanovich novels, puzzles and board games with her children and husband. She also enjoys having the house on rare occasions to herself. Dorothe has an uncanny enjoyment for all things accounting.
Tamara W Cody
Tamara Cody joined Heal Accounting as a Staff Accountant. She has more than 20 years of experience in business management, including bookkeeping, accounting and staff management.Tamara is a Quickbooks Pro Advisor and has an excellent command of Quickbooks Online. Most recently Tamara has been assisting clients integrate apps such as Square, PayPal, and Bill.com with the Qucikbooks Online platform. She is also working with contractors to manage projects and job costing in QBO.
Tamara and her husband Brian own Port Clyde Kayaks. Being a small business owner herself, Tamara understands the challenges involved in operating a small business and draws on her own experience to assist clients.
Tamara received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Bard College, where she graduated with honors and was recognized as a Scholar Athlete. Tamara served as a board member for Saint George Community Sailing Foundation, serving as treasurer for three years. She also serves on the board for Oceanside High School Football. She and her husband support many local non-profits through fundraising and sponsorship.
Tamara was raised in Connecticut and now lives in Mid-Coast Maine with her three children. She enjoys watching her children play sports, spending time at the beach and paddle boarding in Muscongus Bay.
Lisa M Ladd
Lisa Ladd is a Staff Accountant here at Heal Accounting where she specializes in Payroll. She worked as a dental hygienist and realtor for many years. She has been working as an accountant for the last 3 years and really enjoys working with small business clients. She comes to us with a wealth of experience in various types of small businesses.
Lisa is working towards obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She has completed many courses in accounting, financial management, and tax at the University College of Rockland. Most recently she became a Quickbooks Certified Pro Advisor.
Lisa was raised in Maine and resides in Owls Head with her husband, Steven. They have two daughters. Her oldest, Danielle, is serving in the United States Air Force. Her youngest, Nicole, will be a junior in High School.
Brooke A Fournier
Brooke Fournier is a Tax Preparer here at Heal Accounting. She comes to us from the banking sector and brings an air of professionalism that our clients enjoy. Her prior experience in banking and as our Administrative Assistant required significant attention to detail that will be an asset for our tax department.
Brooke received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Maine Orono in 2016. During her time at Orono, she worked as a Resident Assistant and was the Marketing Assistant for Black Bear Athletics. She was a graduate of Oceanside High School, where she played field hockey and managed the boys’ basketball and baseball team. She was an honor grad and a member of the National Honor Society. Brooke is now the assistant field hockey coach at Oceanside Middle School in Thomaston.
Brooke was raised in Midcoast Maine. She enjoys spending time with her family, relaxing, and vacationing in the Caribbean. She lives in Rockport and enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Leo and Apollo.
Laura Miller has joined Heal Accounting as our Administrative Assistant. She was a stay-at-home-mom to her four boys for many years. Most recently, Laura worked controlling and preparing cash, as well as reconciling daily sales, for two local businesses. She is now very excited to have joined the vibrant and wonderful team at Heal Accounting.
Laura loves nature; spending time outdoors and on the water with her family, lobstering with her oldest son when time allows. She enjoys art and photography and any time she can find to be creative.
Above all else, she takes the most pride in cheering on and supporting her boys every day in all sports and the many other activities in which they are involved.
Laura’s roots are in Southern Maine, where she grew up in North Berwick; she enjoys visiting the area and her parents there as often as she can. She now feels so thankful and lucky to live in the amazing community of St. George with her boys and her husband, Jake.
Rachel Curtis has joined Heal Accounting as a Staff Accountant. She brings with her over 12 years of experience working for the Walt Disney Company at the Disneyland Resort in California. While there, she managed over 1,000 employees, was responsible for the daily running of entertainment and focused on leadership training and development.
